It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Wayne McDowell of Franklin, Tennessee, who passed away on December 21, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl McDowell and Evelyn McDowell (Burkhalter); his brother Rev. Lynn McDowell; and his sister-in-law Susan McDowell. He is survived by: his daughters, Angie Meaker (Daniel) and Melanie Garrett (Steve); his grandchildren, Megan Miller (Zach), Allie Cornett (Peyton), Mason Garrett and Evan Garrett; his great grandchildren, Hazel Miller, Sadie Miller, Anneslie Cornett and Maclyn Cornett; his stepgrandchildren, Liz Meaker and Austin Meaker; his brother Phil McDowell; his nephew Cary McDowell (Holly); and his great-niece Mary McDowell.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Watson Funeral Home & Memorial Park (405 Sharp Springs Rd, Winchester, TN 37398). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
