He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Shell and Pearl Crawford Shell; his wife Betty Ferrell Shell; his siblings, Lamont Shell, Jerry Shell and Saundra Shell Moore; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Goodman Shell and Jay Langfelder.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tarenda Shell Vaughn (Tony) and Lisa Dawn Shell; his grandchildren, Jared Vaughn (Sara Grace), Jayme Vaughn Smith (Austin), Emily Vaughn Gamble (Chase) and James Binzen; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Mary-Harris, Grady Vaughn, Graham, Nolan, Avery Kate Smith and Noah Kate Gamble; his sisters, Pat Shell Langfelder and Nancy Shell Smith (Johnny); and his sister-in-law Betty Mashburn Shell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service (3009 Columbia Ave, Franklin, TN 37064). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
