He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Thomas and Ruth Ann Thomas (Kelly); his sisters, Marcia Scarborough and Virginia Thomas; and his brother-in-law George Cole.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Thomas (Bell); his sons, James Thomas Jr. (Mary Kate) and Kelly Thomas (Michelle); his siblings, Walter Thomas Jr. (Jean) and Sandra Cole; and his granddaughter Amber Minton (Trenton). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
