It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Jefferson Johnson (Franklin, Tennessee), who passed away on April 14, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Angel Johnson; his mother Susie Ann Johnson; his siblings, Olivia-Clarke Frierson, Ernestine Holt (Mark), Natalie Maria Dixon (Chase) and J. D. Johnson, Jr. (Helen); his fiancée Philomena Dixon; his stepsiblings, Mary Ann Alexander of Chicago, IL, Emmaline Locke and Jeffery Ratcliff; his aunts, Delores Nevils (John) and Thelma Sydnor; and his uncle Howard McLemore. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The lying in state was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Waters Funeral Home (1408 Columbia Ave, Franklin, TN 37064). Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and at 12:00 PM at the Lynn Creek Tabernacle (117 Fairground St, Franklin, TN 37064).
