She was predeceased by: her husband James; her son Ronald Bruce; her grandson Brian "Duck" Johnson; her parents, Henry Simmons and Lena Beech Simmons; her sister Frances Simmons; and her sons-in-law, Neil Johnson and Eddie Madden.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Johnson, Jimmy Bruce (Joyce), Ricky Bruce and Donna Madden; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Burke (Mark), Maverick Madden (Becky), Tracy Bruce (Emmy), Nick Bruce (Ashley), Jamie Bruce and Tiffany Bruce. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Heart Association.
