He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike Wilson and Lucile Wilson; his former wife Betty C. Wilson; his wife Maxine Ellison Wilson; his sister Mona Wilson; his son-in-law David Sampson; and his grandson Jonathon Sampson.
He is survived by: his children, Libby Sampson, Jacquelin Ellison Stewart (Michael) and Edward Ellison M. D. (Mark Giberson); his grandchildren, Jeffrey Stewart (Kenneth Kang), Lindsey Stewart Ball (Connor), Matthew Giberson (Jennifer) and Grace Giberson Williford (Trey); and his great grandchildren, Ellison Ball, Elic Ball, Rylan Ball and Emery Giberson.
The family request that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
