He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ford and Rena Hudson Ford; his wife Mary Katherine Ford; and his siblings, Bertha Ford, Jimmy Ford, George Ford, Mary Smith, Annie Fergus, Ruby Buchanan and Eddie Ford.

He is survived by: his daughters, Vickie Kelley (Tommy), Shannon Reed (Joe) and Sharron Whited (Tommy); and his grandchildren, Jason Kelley, Daniel Whited, Jana Matlock, Shana Jones, Anthony Whited and Kevin Reed. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
