He was predeceased by: his father Boyd Dean Poteat. He is survived by: his mother Deborah Harris Poteat; his wife Penny Poteat; his children, Trent Poteat, Blake Poteat (Kelsey), Sallie Poteat, Matthew Rust (Krystal) and Mitchell Rust; his grandchildren, Breelyn, Saylor, Harper, Chloe and Madison; and his brother Joshua Isaac Poteat (Julia).
