He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Edwin and Bertha Elizabeth "Billie" [Sherman] Townsend; and his siblings, Richard Walter "Dick", Edwin Elwood "Butch" and Donna Jean Uyttenhove.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Anne [Horne] Townsend; his sister-in-law Jo-Allene Horne (Joan); his sons, Robert Norman "Bob" Townsend, Jr. (Cherry) and Walter Allen Townsend (Jeanette); his grandson Jeremy Howard Townsend (Linda); and his great grandchildren, Claire Isabelle and Sophie Grace. He is also survived by 3 step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Historic Franklin Presbyterian Church in Bob's memory.
