With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Billie Joe Shaneyfelt (Franklin, Tennessee), born in Decatur, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 14, 2024 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hershel Shaneyfelt and Rosa Moore Shaneyfelt; his wife Martha Pennington Shaneyfelt; his brother Lelton Sims; and his niece Bethany Tannen McAfee.
He is survived by: his sisters, Carolyn S. Parker, Lila S. Spurlock and Marlene S. Eads (Bob); his brother-in-law Shorty Pugh (Karen); his nieces and nephews, Patrick Sims, Marko Sims, Henry Sims, Jon McAfee, Bobby Pugh, Alwina Moricle (Madhav), Nivada Spurlock (Jami) and Julie McAfee; and his pet Buster. He is also survived by six great-nephews; one great-niece.
