He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Jefferson Bethurum and William Johnson Bethurum, Jr.; and his brother William Bethurum, III. He is survived by: his wife Amy Bethurum; his children, Alva Jefferson Bethurum, Jr. (Summer Shore), John Bethurum and Carothers Bethurum; and his nephew Billy Bethurum.
