He was predeceased by: his father Donald Anderson Counts; and his brother Tim Counts. He is survived by: his wife Diane Sanders Counts; his sons, Christopher Robert Counts (Nina) and Donald Christopher Counts (Casey); his grandchildren, Cheyanne Rebecca Counts, Christian Marshall Counts and Kopelyn Shea Counts; his great grandchild Reese Walker Counts; his mother Linda Lou Copeland Counts; his siblings, Donna Thomas (Ronnie), Deanna Lindsey, Steve Counts (Denise), Lonnie Counts (Libby) and Cary Counts; and his sister-in-law Mary Kay Counts. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville First Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.
