It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hoy Tipton of Flag Pond, Tennessee, who passed away on April 21, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Tipton and Bonnie Cutshall Tipton; his wife Ina Lee Slivers Tipton; his grandson Joseph Williams; his siblings, Wayne Tipton, Kathryn Rice and Ollie Black; and his siblings-in-law, Offie Silvers and Jean Tipton.
He is survived by: his daughter Polly Woodward (Ray) of Erwin; his siblings, Vernon Tipton of Greeneville, Dallas Tipton, Blake Tipton of Erwin and Eileen Silvers of Flag Pond; his grandson Ashley Woodward; his great grandchildren, Abigail Woodward and Carson Woodward; and his siblings-in-law, Edgar Rice of Flag Pond, J. B. Silvers (Millie) of Burnsville, NC, Vernie Briggs of Erwin and Velva Sparks (Freeman) of Erwin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
