He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo Shelton and Mettie Shelton; and his sons, Vernon Shelton and Ray Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Betty Shelton; his daughters, Hilda Hayes (David) of Flag Pond, Fredia Tipton (Doug) of Flag Pond and Eva Scott (Kim); and his siblings, Glen Shelton (Audrey), Freeman Shelton (Frances) and Molly Hensley. He is also survived by grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
