He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Clay and Solita Hazelwood Goatz; his daughter Donna Shockley; and his sisters, Cora Brown, Diane Jones, Eloise Atkins and Hazel Adcock.
He is survived by: his wife Goatz of Fayetteville, TN; his daughter Debbie Elliott of Fayetteville, TN; his siblings, Martha Holt of Lewisburg, TN, Mary Wolaver of Lewisburg, TN and Coyle Hazelwood (Tina) of Nashville, TN; and his grandchildren, Tracy Carpenter (Paul) of Hazel Green, AL, Tonya Linnell (Tommy) of Fayetteville, TN, Heath Shockley of Fayetteville, TN and Brooke Shelton of Fayetteville, TN. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
