He is survived by: his daughter Dara Alicia Pitts (Mike) of Fayetteville; his daughter-in-law Tracie Bennett May of Lynchburg; his grandchildren, Jordan Lindsay May, Cayla Lane May, Dalton Bennett May, Levi Keith May, Makensey Delane May, Abigail Mae Pitts, Olivia Brooke Pitts and Williams Evan Pitts; his siblings, Harry Ray "Billy" May (Jean) of Belvidere and Joyce Ann Hayes (Wayne) of Huntland; and his sisters-in-law, Josephine Thomas and Hermaline Jones.
