He is survived by: his wife Barbara Elmore Vannatta of Fayetteville; his son Michael Dewitt Vannatta (Jennifer Newman Vannatta) of Fayetteville; his sisters, Judy Hornaday of Wartrace and Faye Windham (Joe) of Lilburn, Georgia; his nephew Punt Windham (Kim); and his grandson Nolan Michael Vannatta of Shelbyville.
