He was predeceased by: his parents, William Glenn and Elsie Elaine Norwood Phillips; his wife Rita Box Phillips; his daughter-in-law Nancy Phillips; and his siblings, Elaine Phillips, Charles Phillips, Bob Phillips and Wallace Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Laurie Spence (Jeff) of Darby, MT and Richard A. Phillips of Cornersville, TN; his brothers, Wayne Phillips (Brenda) and David Phillips (Bonnie); and his grandchildren, Richard Lee Phillips (Miranda), Victoria Mitchell (Brad), Jesse Phillips (Amber), Cody Phillips (Elizabeth), Madi Steelman (Jason), Levi Spence (Kerri), Logan Spence (Kristin), Mariah Smith (Coltan), Tyler Street, Danny Bell, Sam Bell and Britton Blasingim (Katie). He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
