He was predeceased by: his parents, James Grover and Vergie Mae Neely Carr; his sister Norma Jean Elder McKinney; his nephew Tripp Elder; and also Dian Northington Carr.
He is survived by: his former wife Dian Northington; his wife Janice Payne Carr; his children, Debbie Carr Frederick of Montgomery, AL, James Carr (Kristy) of Indian Springs, AL and David Carr (Teresa) of Prattville, AL.; his stepchildren, Joel Hastings (Debbie) of Taft, TN, Bob Maddox (Sherrie) of Fayetteville, TN, Steve Maddox (Linda) of Fayetteville, TN and Lee Maddox (Lissie) of Columbia, TN.; his grandchildren, Jenny Frederick, Amy Stewart (Kenny), Kerrie Kessee (Jared), Michael Carr (Noel), Julie Carr and Shannon Silva; and his great grandchildren, Abby, Duncan, JohnDavid, Joseph and Liam.
