She was predeceased by: her parent James Lawrence; her husband Alton Brady Bates; and her siblings, Burma McBay, Bertha Blue Delona Chamblee and Carl Chamblee.
She is survived by: her parent Eliza Jane Wilks Chamblee; her children, Janice Towry Meridith (Gus) of Flintville, TN and Brady Nelson Bates (April) of Petersburg, TN; her half-siblings, Verbie Arnold, Odean Moore and Freddie Chamblee of Tullahoma, TN; her grandchildren, Chris H. Towry of Fayetteville, TN, Alan Bates (Wendy) of Bloomington, IL, Kara Bates of Cerritos, CA, Nathan Bates (Bonnie) and Justin Bates; and her great grandchildren, Jade Bates of Bloomington, IL. and Gannon Bates of Bloomington, IL..
