He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Rice and Blanche Fowler Rice; and his siblings, William Rice and Sarah Rice Pitts. He is survived by: his wife Nellie Faye Carlisle Rice; his daughter Melissa Rice Boaz (Gerry) of Brentwood; and his siblings, Thomas Rice (Debbie) of Nashville, Mary Rice Dickey of Fayetteville and Jane Rice Baker of Ardmore. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
