He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Taylor and Sally Ann Champion Garner; his siblings, Earl Garner (Ophelia), Albert Garner, Alvin Garner, Alfred Garner, Mildred Hoosier (Tom), Martha Ione "Polly" Singleton (Jim), Pearl Sparks (Tom), Mae McBee (Clarence), Eliene Hawkins (Jack) and Bettie Jo Garner; his stepchildren, Steve Rush and Deborah Barlow; and his granddaughter Shannon Stafford Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Garner; his children, David Garner (Marsha), Jana Beddingfield (Mike), Deta Horton (Nat Vickery), Lisa Adkins (Shane), Valarie McCann and Robin Bevels (Chris); his stepdaughter Danita Ramsey (Tony); and his grandchildren, Lisa Bryan (Gann), Amanda Reinhardt, Gabriel Beddingfield (Wendie), Joshua Beddingfield (Courtney), Caleb Chapman (Ashley), Jim Adkins (Molly), Jessie Phillips (Tyler), Sydney Knight (David), Logan McCann, Phallon Lancaster, Wes Bevels (Lindsey), Branden Bevels, Shelby Bryant, Robert Bevels, Courtney Posey, Rob Barlow, Kyle Taylor (Tabitha) and Austin Ramsey. He is also survived by twenty-eight great grandchildren and one on the way; and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Park City Baptist Church (2809 Huntsville Hwy, Fayetteville, TN 37334). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
