She was predeceased by: her mother Elsie Williams Johnson; her son Ernest Edward Brooks Jr. (Eddie); her siblings, Eleanor Johnson Gray and Roy Eugene Johnson; and her great grandchild Lily Elizabeth Thomas.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest Edward Brooks, Sr. (Ed); her daughters, Denise Brooks Kidd (William) of Fayetteville, Tennessee and Connie Brooks Pitpitan (Siegfred) of Fayetteville, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Russell Brooks (Angela), Adam Brooks, Dr. Charles Kidd (Meghan), Rebekah Kidd Thomas (Jeremiah) and Calvin Kidd (Haley); her sister Charlotte Johnson Gray (Robert); and her siblings-in-law, Russell Gray of Batesville, Mississippi and Linda Johnson of New Albany, Mississippi. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Fayetteville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church or Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.
