He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Worthy and Ella Taylor Worthy; his siblings, Hershal, Jay, Ed Worthy and Joyce Worthy; and his cousins, Johnny and Jimmy Worthy.

He is survived by: his wife Ruby Kidd Worthy; his son Dakota Key (Arianna) of Farner; his grandson Robert "Robbie" Key; and his sisters, Gladys Duggan of Farner and Jean Raper of Kokomo, IN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Farner Presbyterian Church Cemetery (138 Underwood Dr, Farner, TN 37333).
