He was predeceased by: his siblings, Dorothy Tidwell, Clara Wilkins and J. C. Pewitt; and his parents, Jerry S. "Puddin" Pewitt and Annie Mae Holt.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Pewitt; his children, Steve Pewitt, Pam Norvell, Wade Pewitt, David Hollars and Teresa Alberts (Fred); his granddaughter Dianne Bowman (Greg); and his siblings, Ruth Stevens, Martin Pewitt, Daniel Pewitt and Marshall Pewitt. He is also survived by several extended family members and friends.
