It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John W. Bates (Fairview, Tennessee), born in Evansville, Indiana, who passed away on May 28, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Bates and Oleafa Bates; and his sister Delores Decker. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Pewitt Bates; his children, Dana Buttrey (Bruce) and Darrel Bates (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Brian Buttrey, Shelby Buttrey, Erin Tuley (Travis) and Alex Bates; and his sister Virginia Wyatt.
