He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Mae Crowder and William Barnes Sr.; and his brother W. C. Crowder. He is survived by: his children, David Barnes Jr. and Joanie Barnes; his grandchildren, Johnathan, Adelaide and Erik Barnes; his brother William Barnes; and his nieces, Savannah Barnes and Angel Martin.
