He was predeceased by: his mother Grace Leila Young Childers; and his wife Laura Childers. He is survived by: his father Willie Wilson Childers; his children, Veronica Leech (Rodney) of Lynchburg, Stephen Childers (Cheryl) of Grandview and Melissa Pifer of Bryan, TX.; and his grandchildren, Amanda Blons of Kingwood, TX, Crystal Swafford (Jodie) of Knoxville, Lauren Flatt (Andrew) of Winchester, April Calcutt (Simon) of Knoxville, Curtis Childers of Rock Springs, Rachel Pifer of Morris and Jackki Pifer of Minooka.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Grant Funeral Services (103 Peters Rd, Estill Springs, TN 37330). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
