She was predeceased by: her parents, William Harold Gaines and Ona Mai Ivey Gaines; her son Terry Gaines King; and her sisters, Margaret Downing of Virginia and Jo Gaines Syler.
She is survived by: her children, LaDonna Ann King Butts (Andy) of Concord, NC and Keith William Fletcher (Rose) of Huntsville, AL; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Butts Teague (Curtis), Scott Butts (Kamber), Julie Butts Dobbins (Chet), Laura Fletcher Preko (Solomon), Elizabeth Fletcher Ent (Jeffrey) and William James Fletcher. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks donations to be made to The American Cancer Society.
