He was predeceased by: his parents, Vance Carpenter and Lucy Williams Carpenter; his brother Lewis Carpenter; his sister-in-law Terri Carpenter; and his niece Katie Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Ray Carpenter; his brother Charles Carpenter; and his siblings-in-law, Martha Carpenter, Bobby Ray (Joan), W. L. Renfro (Libby) and Dave Renfro (Cindy).
