She was predeceased by: her parents, Ethel Tolley Bennett and Willie Bennett. She is survived by: her siblings, Irene Robinson, Peggy Bennett Wright, James Bennett, Kenneth Bennett, Ricky Bennett and Dennie Bennett; her husband Craig Masters; her children, Mark Galloway (Anne) of Erwin, Tennessee and Amy Burchett of Unicoi, Tennessee; her stepdaughter Cindy Masters of Columbia; her grandchildren, Yvette, Kelly Galloway, Austin Burchett (Kesia), Isaac Burchett and Emily Burchett (Bradly Harris); her great grandchildren, Ayvah and Kaelynn Burchett; her sisters, Robbie Tipton, Catherine Arenas and Priscilla Saylor; her caregiver Dr. Brian Way; and her friends, Frank Rogers and Mike Hensley of Sheriff's Department. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home and Chapel (720 Ohio Ave, Erwin, TN 37650). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Phyllis's memory to Women on a Mission at Shallow Ford Baptist Church, Unicoi County Search and Rescue, or the Carter-Johnson-Unicoi County Isaiah 117 House—organizations close to her heart.
