She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Shorter and Dora Hannah Shorter (Lockner); her husband Emerson Smith; her sons, Benny Smith and Luther Jackson Smith; her grandson Dakota Smith; and her sister Thelma Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Vestal Smith (Connie), Cecil Ross Smith, Phyllis Wilson (Theodore), Lucy Byrd (Dave) and Verna Harris (Carl, Jr.); her grandchildren, Tina Foster, Lisa Miller, Jason Smith, Mark Smith, Kayla Woodward, Regina Tilson, Derek Smith, Timmy Smith, Wade Smith, Brandon Smith, Ashley Maynard, Jessica Norton, Rachel McNabb, Jeremy Cross and Eric Cross; and her sisters, Mary Smith and Trula Casey. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; Several great-great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 an open visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until time to leave for the cemetery.
