He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Necessary and Annie Pearl Necessary (Monroe); his siblings, Ralph Paul Necessary, David Henry Necessary and Maxie Ruth Necessary; and his niece Sherry M. Hand.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Necessary; his nieces and nephews, Kristy Buchanan (Shane), Aaron Howard (Brynna), Walter Burkett Jr., Robin Martin (Tim), Jake Necessary (Sharon), Cassie Strickler (Frazier), Meggan Smith (Michael), Cody Necessary, Eric Davis, Sherry Miller, Willard Davis and William Davis; his siblings-in-law, Charlotte Burkett (Walter), Ward Howard, Jeffery Davis and Kenny Davis (Karen); and his close friend David Hayworth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in James's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; to Shiner's Children's Hospital, 950 W Faris Road, Greeneville, SC 29605; or in the form of Gideon Bibles at Valley Funeral Home.
