He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Isaac and Louise Allen (Ambrose); his wife Dixie Kay Allen; his brother Fred Allen; and his brother-in-law Jerry Welch.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Allen McGee (Eric) of Jonesborough, Michael Allen (Laura), Tyler and Peyton of Erwin; and his sister Linda Allen Welch.
