He was predeceased by: his parents, Juanita Peake and Staley Peake; his siblings, Fern, Midge and Bill; his siblings-in-law, Carrol, Kyle, Jerry, Becky and Dolly; and his great grandchild Samuel Wyatt Rice.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby; his daughters, Vicki Garland (Randy) and Sandi Peake (Pui); his grandchildren, Lindsey Street and Jamie Rice (Matt); his great grandchildren, Anna Kathryn Street, Nila Rice, Henry Rice and Bea Rice; and his siblings-in-law, Ronnie, Kenneth, Bill, Charlie, Karen, Barbara and Shirley.
The family requests that no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Gene's name to the Unicoi County Animal Shelter, 185 N Industrial Drive, Erwin, TN 37650.
