It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Frye of Erwin, Tennessee, who passed away on June 13, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Frye and Ethel Frye (Hensley); his daughter Barbara Grubb; and his siblings, Fred Frye, Patsy Westberry and Goldie Herrin.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Hatcher Frye; his daughters, Phyllis Kasonik (Bob) and Becky Knox (George); his grandchildren, Mandy Blackburn (Chad), Jenny Ely (Adam), Ashley Kasonik (Brian), Karli Susi (Alan), Nick Baldwin, Natalie Shannon (Ryan) and Billy Knox (Autumn); his great grandchildren, Adelaide Susi, John Susi, Lila Eshenour, Claire Eshenour, Campbell Knox, Chappell Knox and Archie Shannon; and his sister Sandra Volena Tipton (Phil).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Gene's name to Calvary Baptist Church, 540 Adams Street, Erwin, TN 37650.
