In loving memory of Doug Lowell Tipton of Erwin, Tennessee, who departed this world on November 6, 2024 at the age of 82. Doug leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Doug has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Lowell Tipton and Juanita Moore Tipton; and his sister Patricia Tipton. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Barnett Tipton; his children, Jill Tipton of Erwin and David Tipton (Julie Bledsoe) of Erwin; his grandchildren, Anthony Tipton and Emily Tipton; and his sister Cora Tipton Edwards of Erwin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Douglas is my counsin. We grew up in a very close family seeing each other on a daily basis. He was tall, handsome & kind. Haven't seen him in quite awhile due to living far apart. Loving memories of our childhood are wonderful to have. The sickness is now gone & he's at peace with thoes who will welcome him with love.”
