He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Payne and Emma Booker Payne; his grandson Charles O'rion James Payne; his brother Willie Payne; and his nephew Timothy Payne.
He is survived by: his children, Reva Naredo, Beatrice Payne and Casey Payne; his siblings, David Payne, Christopher Payne, Cindy Payne (Shawn Miller), Emma Charlene Whaley (Michael), Ida Merie Tester and Joyce Coomer (Charles); and his grandchildren, Christian Naredo, Carson Naredo, Malachi Naredo, Aubree Payne and Rayden Payne.
