She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Buchanan and Odee Lewis Buchanan; her husband James Douglas Ellis; and her brothers, Bill Buchanan and Bob Buchanan.
She is survived by: her children, Leisa Ellis Morris (John Kiser) of Erwin, TN and James Douglas Ellis (Kelly) of Morganton, NC; her brother Bruce Buchanan (Barbara) of Burlington, NC; her sister-in-law Lynda Buchanan of Winston-Salem, NC; and her granddaughter Chealssea Queen (Allen) of Hickory, NC..
