She was predeceased by: her parents, Briscoe Peterson and Kate Peterson of Huntdale, NC.; her husband Charles Garrett Hughes; and her siblings, Buster Peterson (Florence) and Lorene Adkins (Willis).
She is survived by: her children, Charles, Atlas, Sharrol Hensley (George), Mike Hughes (Debbie), Rickey Hughes (Cheryl), Mark Hughes (Alisa), Loretta Hutto (Marc), Rhonda Phillips (Keynan) and Beth Bridges (Michael); her grandchildren, Chad Hensley, Brian Hensley, Michelle Collis, Curtis Hughes, Nikki Orndoff, Daniel Hughes, April Hughes, Brandon Hughes, Ali Garrett, Katie Martin, Dillon Phillips and Bella Bridges; her siblings, Gene Peterson (Clara), Etta Murphy (Dean) and Alice Whitson (Hugh); and her grandsons, Gerry Hughes and Thomas Phillips. She is also survived by her in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
