He was predeceased by: his parents, George Rye and Mamie Rye; his wife Viola Mae Rye; his sons, Keith Simmons and Anthony Rye; and his siblings, Richard Rye and Audrey Naylor.
He is survived by: his children, Christy Worden, Diana Rye Hanvy, Karen Rye Nichols and Ralph Simmons; his sisters, Mildred Clark and Maxine Shelton; and his significant other Doris June Tomlinson. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
