He is survived by: his wife Rachel Schmidt; his children, Paul Varden Jr. (Heather), Lloyd Varden (Theresa), Alice Hooper and Mary Gregor (John); his brother Hershel Varden; and his grandchildren, Josh Hooper, Lawrence Hooper, Logan Varden, Peyton Varden, Landon Varden, Morgan Varden and Michael Jernigan. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
