He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Coakley and Ella Coakley; and his wife Mildred Clark Coakley. He is survived by: his children, James "Shorty" Coakley (Sue) and Barbara Coakley Herndon; and his sister Betty Ruth Johnson. He is also survived by four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren.
