He was predeceased by: his parents, Odie Whitman and Lela Brooks Whitman; his wife Paulette Whitman; his son-in-law Matt Robbins; and his brothers, DeWayne Whitman, Bill Whitman and Harold Whitman.
He is survived by: his former wife Sandra Paulette Smith; his daughter Kim Robbins of Enville; his grandchildren, Shelley Grisham (John) and Josh Robbins; his great grandchildren, Taylee, River and Lincoln Grisham; and his sisters, Linda Gilchrist of Bartlett, Doris Hughes of Bartlett and Barbara Johnston of Germantown.
