With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rosa Phillips of Englewood, Tennessee, born in McDade, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 27, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Freddie D Phillips; her parents, Henry Wolf and Bertha Wolf; her son Alan Dewitt Phillips; her in-laws, Chester and Dorotha Phillips; and her sisters, Elsie Detrick and Ernestine Schulz (Lawrence).
She is survived by: her children, Charles Phillips (Robin) of Englewood, Ann Swayne (Jim) of Etowah and Lynn Morrison (Mike) of Athens; her daughter-in-law Barbara Phillips of Englewood; her grandchildren, Daniel Phillips (Briana) of Englewood, Ricky Phillips (Kisha) of Englewood, Amanda Phillips Burchfield, Quintin Phillips, Madison Phillips of Englewood, Makayla Phillips Fangman (Ben) of Atlanta, GA, Mark Swayne (Marley), Jennifer Swayne Brown (Robert) of Cleveland, David Morrison of Athens and Grant Morrison of Chattanooga, TN; her great grandchildren, Brent Phillips (Nicole) of Knoxville, Emily Phillips of Englewood, Aidan Phillips of Cleveland, Lilyan, Briley, Parker, Barrett Phillips of Englewood, Brycen, Brayden Burchfield, Braxton Mixon and Riverlynn Goodner of Englewood; her grandchildren, Addyson, Ruthanne, Margaret Swayne of Philadelphia, PA, Paige and Stormer Brown of Cleveland, TN; her nieces, Melba Skubiata (Wayne) of McDade, TX and Debra Schubert (Leslie) of Lexington, TX; and her nephew Paul Detrick (Georgia) of Jarrell, TX.. She is also survived by her sisters, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Englewood Christian Church (308 Englewood Ave, Englewood, TN 37329). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the McMinn Memory Gardens (1727 Co Rd 560, Athens, TN 37303).
