He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Raper and Hazel Irons Raper; his brothers, Dale, Dean and Tom Raper; and his brother-in-law Lynn Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Gracie Raper of Englewood; his daughter Melinda; his son-in-law Scott Roddy of Birmingham; his sons, Jeff (Lori Raper) and Mark (Angie Raper); his nephew Tracy (Angela Brown) of Etowah; his sisters-in-law, Carrie Brown, Princess Reed and Diane Raper; his sister Portia; his brother-in-law Scott Anderson of Athens; his brother Ross; and his sister-in-law Andrea Raper of Athens. He is also survived by four granddaughters; four grandsons; five great-grandchildren.
