We are sad to announce that on March 16, 2025, at the age of 87, Shelby J Medearis (Elizabethton, Tennessee) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Shelby farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Shelby is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Clarence and Bertha Mae Berry Fletcher; her husband Ben Medearis; her siblings, Ruth, Phyllis and Clint; her niece Carolyn; her son Ben; her daughter-in-law Kimberly Medearis of Ashville, NC; her stepdaughter Robin Lynn Medearis Shell; and her granddaughter Christy Shell.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Chapel (212 N Main St, Elizabethton, TN 37643). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
