Gene Oliver Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gene Oliver of Elizabethton, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 28, 2025 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gene Oliver to pay them a last tribute.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Nidiffer Oliver (Dot); his children, Rick Oliver, Steve Oliver (Georgina) and Karen Curtain of Swindon, England; his stepchildren, Joy Williams (Ken), Fran Holleman (Rick), Brad Oliver (Cheri) and Ginger Dugger (Steve) of East Tennessee; and his brother Melvin Oliver. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Tetrick Funeral Home (211 N Riverside Dr, Elizabethton, TN 37643). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.

Before his Parkinson's diagnosis took so much from him, Gene was always up for a hike in the mountains as he loved the outdoors and fishing.
