She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Elbert Townsend and Jean Townsend (Dunbar); her husband John VanMeter; her daughter Marie VanMeter; and her siblings, Carl Wayne Townsend, Michael Grant Townsend, Richard Lynn Townsend and Linda Jeanette VanMeter.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Deal of Elizabethton, Michelle Stevens of Elizabethton, Carla James of Johnson City, Jennifer VanMeter of Hampton and Alan Casey of Erwin; her granddaughter Jade VanMeter (Noah Mejia); and her siblings, Sam Townsend (Ely) of Texas and Susan Heaton (Ric) of Johnson City. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 at 1:15 PM and at 2:00 PM.
