He is survived by: his wife Trena Presnell Gibson; his siblings, Christine Burleson (Johnny) of Elizabethton, Anna Eleanor Burkhart of Elizabethton and Johnny Gibson (Connie) of Roan Mountain; his siblings-in-law, Loretta Rainbolt (Ken), June Winters, Norma Babb (David), Pat Montgomery (Clay), Diana Marlowe (Ralph) and Dean Presnell (Sandra); and his caregiver Doris Blevins (Mac). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
